So I hear this is pretty new however I feel Vlogging is not going to pick up as much as blogging has. I think people have not made it over that hump yet where they rather just type up text instead of talk about it. For many reasons, Camra shy , Better writer then speaker and so forth. Whats your views on Vlogging and do you do it?
I haven't done it yet, nor do i intend to do it (for some time at least) While writing, I could write / erase and re-write but for vlogging - you have to be right every time (or go thru takes and re-takes). So easy to use backspace key in case of a typo, and no one is going to judge me / content by the looks in blogging while in vlogging, peeps would focus more on me then on the content being spoken. You are absolutely write that a good writer may not be a very good speaker as well. Thx VB
Vlogging is the future. There will be a major surge in vlogging as the younger generation is moving into the ownership of blogs.
There are a few sites out there now for vlogging however very few and hard to find. If i had money to invest I would put money into a Teen driven Vlogging site as it seems most of the videos you see on youtube etc are of younger people. So I would go with a theme based on this. Might take a bit to start up at first but could be the next big money maker such as myspace. For those of you who do not know vlogging is just like blogging however video version of it instead. You could vlog about your trips and personal life and I bet it would get a ton of traffic. I think more visitors would be interested in watching a video then reading if the person is good at it more entertainment there.
Blogging is better in my opinion. Spiders can't crawl what you say in a video. And people with dial up can't watch them.
I use blogs mostly for info - I like to skim over them, read what is relevent. You can't really do that with vlogs. Blogs are research tools for me and I do much better reading and writing than I would "vlogging"
My young brother does it (I call him young, he is 22!), it is certainly something that does not interest me.
I'd do it, but I'm too damn ugly. camera keeps breaking. But really, some people made good points. You have to be spot on, and if something goes wrong, you can hit backspace. So you gotta do retakes after retakes. And, how do you seo what you say? so I think these two hinders vlogging.
Not yet.. but you can be sure once vlogging gets popular, searchengines will index them too.. the technology exists, however is pretty slow and expensive, used to i.e. index libraries of tv stations..
Nah Vlogging would be where you take all the information you write about and designing it into a video instead where you are in such a news host almost. I guess in some cases it would do well such as if you wanted to run your own little new vlog. I guess it works in some cases however not in all. It seems fun and interesting just a ton more work to do compared to blogging.
Wait for the technology (btw it already exists, but not for public consumption and has some inherent issues due to dialects, different patterns etc) to convert speech to text and thus index - crawl or rank. Cheers
