Hi, I signed up to the forum today. I'm not sure if you will be able to change this as its kinda built into VBulletin, but I found it extremely hard to read the text on the images. Some characters even appeared as near invisible. I had to refresh it several times until the background and text changed enough to be legible (read-able? lol). Just so you know, I do not suffer from any visual impairment. There was also nothing affecting the screen such as glare etc. Apart from that, everything is cool!
You can change to blue skin under "User CP"/"Edit Options"/"Forum Skin", but buttons remains in green.
I meant the background colour of the verification code upon registering to the forum. Sorry, I should have been more clear.
Actually I noticed this today using the Keyword Generator here on DP. It was really hard to read the letters. I had to refresh about 4 times just to get it right.
It's because robots can now view images (and read them) the added skewing of the text, the random sizes, and speckles all help to fight the bots. So while we may need to re-load it a few times, it's likely better then needing to sort through pages and pages of bot driven spam. Though, I've left sites that proved too difficult to read. The most I've ever tried was 8 refreshes and figured it simply was not worth it (though if I recall correctly, I got the one here on the first try). Personally I prefer the bot-stoppers that ask questions like "What color is orange?" or "Two plus two equals?"
May forums have options while registering, they ask users to write a word or an answer like "Type vBulletin" "What is your username(stated above)" "Some mathematical expressions" etc
Thanks for the clarification, but I know I was saying that they are hilarious, and I love when I run into those on forums.
inworx, I said I love running into those text verification questions... They are sometimes funny.. Does this topic have to be a thread in itself??
