Vista is the only operating system that can actually take advantage of all the memory you have installed (max 3.3gb if 32bit and 8gb if 64bit Vista ultimate). So when you start using the pc it learns what you do and preloads it as your moving around so it's much quicker. It also dedicates ram to your vid card increasing the performance of that and has many monitoring features and other things added on. Microsoft a billion dollar company didn't make vista as a mistake, it made it as the next platform. Don't choose older technology which will be outdated sooner. Get 64 bit vista if possible but not likely in retail stores. Get quad core if it's in your budget. 3gigs if 32bit as it can't see anything higher = waste of money to put more in. ACERS are cheap and have same parts as other computers but tend to give much bigger screens and faster parts for price ! I have hardly had any faulty acers come in - pc tech 8 years - worked in retail as well seen it all.
I think XP is much better than Vista in any kind of work. Vista has only 1 + pt dat is better visulisation. bt i don't think it matter for any one who want nothing but the best.
Personally don't think you can compare, XP is good after its service packs, Vista is still bug loaded and won't be fully fixed ever due to the announcement of Windows 9 next year I believe, if your saving money with XP then I'd say go that way about. I'd say get Ubunti then buy Windows 9 next year, if I hadn't of paid for Vista I'd be using that.
i think they are not offering XP now !! You have to purchase vista and degrade it to XP if you want..
But actually. Vista is more stable then XP now. So go with Vista all you need is maybe a dual core and atleast 2 gigs of memory.
i got vista 3gig good video card and 500gig hd its really good its all hd and hads blur ray drive old computer was xp but this is amazing. anyways i say vista if you get a good computer as well
you haven't given enough info if the pc are low power, low ram, then go with xp if you're able to get a good pc, go with vista.. it's excellent
I have Vista on my high-end desktop PC and recently downgraded to XP on laptop... So get Vista if you have more than 3 GB RAM or want to use DirectX 10 (games). Also Vista is a bit more stable, at the price of some performance of course.
What is the biggest different between vista and XP ? I need a answer from practical users!! Thank you
Yes but all the updates they have now are fixing or already fixed them. That is why its the most stable as of right now.
Sorry for double posting again. Vista is just a better interface and I think is more secure. More games installed. Looks smooth. Everything around is just better than XP I think.
i think Vista is better for you. If you buy vista then you will get new hardwares with faster processor, memory. It is totally depends upon you. =========================================================================== jonty4321
Everyone I know HATES vista. I personally cannot stand it at all. It is slower than xp, takes more ram and just more difficult to use. XP is 1000's times better. Vista just looks all nice and flashy, but it's horrible to use. Why do you think Windows did the Mojeva commercia? Because everyone hates Vista so much.
