Yes, thats right, maybe you're using a wrong RAM module.

Try putting RAM modules individually to verify if they're working independently ;)

The trouble is coming again with my laptop. It's making the noise again, even with 1.5 GB RAM.

You have 4GB, buddy, nothing is going to run slow on that. We all know Vista is power and resource hungry, so we'll just have to deal with it if we want to use it. I run Windows Vista fine with the sidebar and Photoshop CS3 on 1.25 GB of RAM, so if you're willing to go in and tweak, there are some ways to make use a lot less of resources.

On the topic at hand, however, I can't help you, you'll probably have to contact your vendor.

"I went to said that the laptop I have can hold 4 GB's of RAM, but when I tried it, Vista wouldn't recognize the RAM at all. The screen wouldn't load, neither would Vista. I tried 3 GB's, and 2 GB's, but nothing worked, so I went down to 1.5 GB, and it worked fine."

May be its because of any incompatibility issue?

RAM that you are installing, is there a difference of RAM frequency ?

If you have one chip thats PC 5300, and if the other chip is PC 6000, then its possible that you will experience a compatibility issue.

    Thats good :D

LAst time I checked, 32bit OS's only supported up to 4gb of RAM but if you put 4gb of RAM in a Vista System it will only recognize and utilized 3.2gb of it.

The chip was one of the factors. The RAM chips I got originally had 4 Black tops per stick on it, and the RAM that I was getting had 8 black tops on it per stick. So, that may have been an issue.

I just installed the Vista SP1 that Microsoft released, and everything seems to be working fine now. Computer is going normal, although the RAM usage is still high, but I will be removing some programs, and stuff from my computer.

It's not making that noise anymore either.. so I guess.. Hmm..

Yes, but there is one point to be noted though. I read that if you have Vista Home Basic version, you only need 768 MB RAM to run it, but when you upgrade to the Home Premium Version, you need at least 1 GB of RAM. :) Just a side note.;)

Well, as I said before, I run Vista Premium on 1GB, no problem. I did some tweaking, of course.

I just Googled it and followed a ton of how-to's. I don't really remember what I did, though.
