As for me , I still am using Vista although it runs just so sssssllllooowwww, if Microsoft is trying to push Vista, then why bother with SP3 for XP...more importantly....why are they not promoting 64 bit editions of both the O/S's
I suspect that Microsoft figures people are not going to want to re-buy XP just for the 64-bit edition. And the average XP user doesn't need a 64-bit OS anyway, let alone know what the hell it is.
well, yeah vista is a terrible resource hogger... nonetheless, before commenting people should at least try it out!!
well maybe many people don't know how to use it then or install/configure it correctly. I'm using vista for 2 months now on P4 1.8, 1GB ram, builtin graphics card and the system runs 24*7 without any problem. I had a little problem with explorer.exe in the begining but thats fixed now too. I use photoshop cs3 and it works like a charm on vista. I'm no microsoft fan, but if you don't know how to put a condom on then its your problem not the trojan's.
They have to because the consumer still wants XP. As for the 64 bit it's because all new processors are now 64 bits.
I got Vista Ultimate(cracked ) on Toshiba A100 with only 1.5GB RAM. And it's running smooth even when 85% of my 90GB hard-drive is used! AMAZING!
This is what suppose to be different in Vista SP1. http://www.istartedsomething.com/20071208/vista-sp1-changelog/
I didn't like vista at first and was forced to make the switch in order to play my new games which required dx9c and for some reason winxp wouldn't upgrade dx. Now that i have made the switch to vista i would never go back to XP
Well, there may be a good reason why Vista is nicer on the surface than XP. Check out this video from Youtube comparing Vista with Mac OS X.4 (Tiger).
used both and prefer XP over Vista by far I will choose XP whenever at all possible, and will wait and skip over vista completely
I've work with both Vista and XP and XP is far better. Ask most people that support Windows and they will let you know that Vista is harder to fix.
