LOL, I guess we can I agree that Microsoft has used Linux and still uses Linux to help protect its servers against denial-of-service attacks. There is no better flattery then to have your competition have to use you because it's product needs it. Microsoft needs Linux to protect it's servers. Still in 2008.

You yourself have said that they use Akamai. Akamai uses Linux. You can interpeted as you wish but when people use something it's because they like the product and endorse it. Microsoft still uses it to stop Denial of Service.

Akamai are a separate company who provide a CDN to microsoft among many other companies

the backend microsoft servers are all Windows, if the loads get to great Akamai step in and serve it from their network

its been like this for years

I hate it. My mom has it on her computer and it is the most annoying and bugging OS I've ever seen. I'd even chose ancient Slackware over it.

It works fine for me, though all I care about is [Mozilla Firefox, Thunderbird, Adobe Fireworks, Dreamweaver, Filezilla, Notepad 2, Project64, and steam] Other than that I really do not need much. Though I keep a little partition for XP.

I highly doubt that will happen...seriously. They will most likely clean it up with service packs as they do with every OS, and just fix it from there. There are a lot of people that are happy with the new OS so if they abandon it they would be stupid. I just ran a report on my websites and am finding the number of vista users has doubled over XP and is growing rapidly. It just wouldn't make sense.

There are two reasons I hate vista.

#1) Nothing is where it used to be. Finding my way around the pc to get to admin tools that were easy to find, even add/remove programs, is now a major pain in the @$$.

#2) Visual Studio 6 will not run in vista, only VS.net and VS.net does not run well in vista. It's a major PITA as well. I'm sorry I ended up with vista.

When in the he11 is sp1 going to be released? That's what I want to know.

Let the downloads begin. If anybody downloads it let us know if it's worth it.
