    are you kidding?
leptard is much worse than vista

apple has a pretty loyal fan base that's blinded by it's biasness

and beyond that, now they're using x84 processors (which is a dying architecture) they're basically just PC's

I wish apple would of stuck with IBM, then maybe I'd consider buying one

IBM is the only innovative processor company left

poor AMD, they've tried, but they're failing (hector rulz needs to go)
and the next set of processors from intel* are just going to be another netburst architecture
I can't see intel being innovative if AMD dies

It seems as the only problem some ppl here are having is the ram space. Why dont you buy a bigger ram space then?

Im getting VISTA! tired of my XP

I've been using Vista for a while, and I had no problems since I have 2 gigs RAM. BUT, still, I removed it from my system. Why? Because that fancy GUI doesn't suit me at all.

It's not just the ram but the hard drive, DVD-Rom, it's just to much for one operating system to ask for. If it where Abobe CS3 then yeah I would understand the requirements. But an OS that needs that much resources is just bloated ware.

    Not at all
    vista isn't just an OS
    it's an AI, aswell
it programs itself to remember what programs you use the most, and preloads them into the ram (e.g. with firefox. When I first got vista installed, it took about 1 second to load... now it loads instantly)

and as for the hdd space, it's only 6gb....?

the thing that bloats it up is shadow copies
    I disabled them in ultimate

but with home premium, vista makes the mistake of still making them just incase of an upgrade in the future

so you can't turn them off or anything. I hated that

that's why I pirated ultimate on my laptop aswell

when hard drives are in the TB range these days, soon enough 7gb will be just like 10mb :)
oh, and the newest things coming out... fusion I/O's, are being released at 640gb unlike SSD's or these stupid 10k raptors
the storage possibility with them has just begun, harddrives are going to become extinct soon

Maybe people don't see the need to upgrade from XP to Vista. Doesn't mean people don't like it.

This is do to SuperFetch. "A new memory management technology in Windows Vista, Windows SuperFetch, helps keep the computer consistently responsive to your programs by making better use of the computer's RAM. Windows SuperFetch prioritizes the programs you're currently using over background tasks and adapts to the way you work by tracking the programs you use most often and preloading these into memory. With SuperFetch, background tasks still run when the computer is idle. However, when the background task is finished, SuperFetch repopulates system memory with the data you were working with before the background task ran."
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/features/details/performance.mspx

It's good it uses more memory. Supposedly the more memory you have the more vista will use.

Doesn't really matter if MS releases shitty software or not, idiots will buy it to make MS even richer. You think bill gates cares if people on forums bitch about how shitty his software is when people are dumb enough to buy it? Thats kinda like saying, I hate the New York Yankees and everything about them, but then tomorrow go out and buy an AROD Jersey. Think they care about opinions? They may act like they do, like any typical business would, but MS is more or less like their own government, selling software to them is like collecting taxes, pure easy profit.

you should try it out, but not buy it
    (google paradox crack)

if you wanna buy it, wait for SP1 to be fully released (in like a month?)

I can do everything you claim to be able to do on Vista with my XP ;) Also, my XP looks like Vista, if all you want is the eye candy, there are plenty of free packs to edit XP to LOOK like Vista :p

obviously you can make it look like vista

Eyecandy is nice, but not my whole point here.

I had 100x more problems with my XP, then I believe I ever will with Vista.

    Like I said:
Iv had ZERO problems with Vista to date, and I do ALOT on my computer.
