I find vista is really slow when doing anything that involves large files - Im going to be putting XP on my work machine 'cos vista is getting on my man boobs!
i don,t thing so that vista rockzz cause on vista we can,t install any other hardware driver even my net not worked at vista that,s why i hate vista.... just beauty is not our requirment man.. what do you think...?
Im waiting til the last possible second to switch to vista.. its just like when XP was new, it SUCKED
Compared to what XP was at it's begining it rocks... the first releases of XP were terrible: lot of security holes, crashes and so on. It may be slow sometimes (i noticed it stais longer to copy large files) but it's more user friendly and let's hope with realeses of updates it will be more stable and safer.
lol I helped a friend on sharing network files on vista.. it took me like 15mins to set it up.. which only takes me like 20secs in XP...
I'm settled into XP and migrating now would mean a big investment in time as I am sure there would be device driver and application compatibility issues if I upgraded to Vista. Seems like Vista was kind of a flop IMO.
I don't know if Vista rocks but.. whatever happens we all DO in fact have to give in and accept Vista as the main OS... I want my XP back!
I have 2.8gig dual core, 1 gig ram with Vista pre-installed. Frankly it's a dog. I can compute faster using a calculator. Recently it took 17 minutes to close down, and that's with indexing turned OFF in the services. Utter sh*te. XP is far from perfect but at least it is reasonably fast. So far the best OS for me has been Win 2k - it's XP without the bells and whistles, it's fast and reliable.
I have crap loads of resources on the laptop, but vista still doesn't feel good... besides I grew old on XP, why change, when there is no added functionality besides revamped interface...
Hello, Vista is great if you have a good mount of memory, if you have 512MB you are out! For my opinion minimun you need 1GB. My 2 cents, Jakomo
I hear that, I made my vista disk into a very expensive drink coster, but I only paid $9 for it since it was the optional upgrade at the time.
