I think the retail price cuts matter less at this stage as ppl go for the OEM edition bundled with a new comp. @ a member who said there are no buyers @ the $300 price point for Vista.. What you say is true. Also most of the users hardly buy software. Piracy is rampant. So even if its $100 people ain't gonna buy it in India. ( Of course there are people who buy software in India so no disrespect to them. But the fact is the majority of the computers in India use pirated software (including organizations)).
Vista is ok...not good though and far behind my Mac.. It crashes a lot because of the amount of RAM required to run its Operating System.. And I have 2gb of RAM
I dont see any price change - atleast not on ebay. How/Where can i get the Windows Vista with new price. Thanks, ASHISH T.
Anish the price cuts have just been announced. It may take a couple of days to crop up. Ebay is not the ideal place to look for software. Most people sell @ ebay for profit and prices are naturally higher @ ebay. Try checking the prices with an authorized Microsoft dealer store. Also if you need a cheaper alternative you can also go for the OEM edition. The homepremium Vista edition (OEM) is priced at Rs 6500. You need to buy hardware along with Vista OEM for it to be a legal purchase. Even a sata cable is engh.
Vista in it's current stage is working fine for many generic apps. The problem lies in the driver development for this platform. This doesn't surprise me as it's always been that way since Win95, 98, ME (god that was horrible), XP and now Vista. It'll take some time for major hardware developers to release FULLY stable drivers. That being said, if you have the hardware to run Vista, get in now and gut it out to fully learn the software. Start using it with NO expectations and I think you'll be ok.
vista price previously really very high, few times more than xp and also a lot of bugs.always cause some problem like program has no responding and need to restart it.sometimes really hate it. it works slow even i have core2duo 1.66 with 2gb ram...
Hm, mines fast as hell. Running on a Gateway 6831fx laptop. Granted, my video card is pretty top notch (8800m gts) but still, haven't seen any issues with slowdown or bogging.
coz vista is tooooo big for an average pc.. xp caters for almost all users.. avearge and professional users
Have you even used it?Vista is much better then XP.It all comes down to your computer specifications.I have a very powerful rig which can actually run vista and it rocks.I love Vista.
I have a laptop that can only hold up to 512 Mb of RAM. I'd better not lose my XP disks or I'll be screwed (unless I go with Linux).
i am sticking with xp until they get all the bugs work out. Also when my software i have plays on it. A friend of mine bought vista and now he back on xp because of all the bugs
