Windows XP is far more stable than Vista, in relation with speed manufacturers are shipping out computers with the minimum amount of ram required for vista resulting in poor performance, Thus why vista recieves such horrible reviews. Windows 7 hopes to improve on these factors, in reality, windows 7 is what vista should of been but microsoft got greedy and shipped it out way to early in my opinion. Looking forward to windows 7, we'll see.

I use Vista on Dell Precision M6300 and this is first hardware that works ok with Vista.

But I will go with Windows 7 in future.

I prefer to use Vista over XP. I got Vista with my new PC. I had problems getting familiarized with Vista in the beginning but now it works good with Vista.

Use the Win7 beta until it is released. Vista blows, 7 is great. Or ubuntu ;)

Yes, ubuntu is better. But windows 7 will give much tough competition to it in terms of stability.

Windows Vista is quite simply next generation Millenium Edition.

Vista to XP is what Windows ME was to Windows 98 ..

All of the service packs in the galaxy could never cause Vista to be anything more than a still stumbled attempt on Microsoft's part to force upgrades .. and .. as you can see .. it backfired .. just like Windows ME did.

Our systems are a 70/30 cross between XP-Pro and Ubuntu.

Windows XP will have extended support through, and quite possibly even beyond 2015, so I'm not seeing us making changes anytime soon.

Ubuntu is making some headway with us, in that 30% of our systems are currently running it.

I bought my wife a new laptop last year, and after countless hours of frustration and bugs, I finally ran a reformat, departitioned the C drive, and installed Windows XP-Pro.

Windows Vista is so bad, that even it's Premium Edition is priced lower than XP-Pro ... that, on it's own, is quite telling.

Windows Vista will be one that gets skipped over. Just like Windows ME was.
