Vista Difficulties

We've found that Vista users must be logged in as Administrator to run our software programs on 32-bit machines and those with 64-bit machines have to stand on their heads to get programs to run correctly. They must change settings in the file's properties to run XP compatible.

Right click on your software icon and run as Administrator.

    What kinda software?
Because 32bit software just runs fine on Vista 64bit. There is (should be) no difference.

Yes, we need to know the type of software you are trying to open. Otherwise, as you all know, Vista doesn't do too well with SOME programs prior to Vista's release.

You can just disable UAC (user account control). Click the start menu, and click your picture in the upper right corner. Then choose "Disable or enable user account control" or something :)

Well, you got your answer above: "Make your software Vista compatible". The fact that your software runs as administrator only probably means that the software tries to write to files in system or program files folders which is a no-no unless you are running as administrator. Why would you want to maintain that method?

Vista was a failure.I'm sure that Microsoft have stopped developing Vista.Because they are currently doing something new which is Windows 7.A new OS.

You're totally wrong... Microsoft hasn't stopped developing on Vista, actually they're working on a service pack 2 now.
I've always been happy with Vista, and I won't change back to XP.

I had tried to run Vista for a while for my business and none of the specialized programs I need to use would work so I went back to XP Pro and have had no problems since then.

MS need to make an OS that looks like Vista but works like XP Pro.

I would only recommend Vista if you can use the 64 bit version. Otherwise, it's worthless.
