I ask myself how many visitors can bring a top 10 on Google ? how some guys make money when they are not listed in first 100 websites ? why i ask this questions ? some people make money from the first day with a website , others like me can't earn money or don't have visitors , impresions after 2 months , my website is on first page on second position on Google for the short subdomain redirection and i have 7 impresions !!!! and 3 or 4 visitors .... i think my niche is the worst in the world , what about you ? people who earn 20 -50 or more $ / day , after how many time you earn this money ? how much you earned in the first month for example ?
It depends how many people are searching for that key word. If you have a keyword like "Myspace Layouts" and you're the first one in google you're going to see well over 500,000 uniques every day. If you're first for the term "cow milkers of america" or something like that then you're not going to see much traffic at all because no one is searching for that term. You can take this business 1 of 2 ways. 1. Keep 1 site and only 1 site. Work on it all the time make sure it's seo'ed. Pay to get traffic to the site. Do everything you can to make that 1 site as large as it can be. or 2. If after a few months the site isn't making money ditch the site and work on a new site. It might take a few tires to find a site that will actually make you money. Once you find that site build it up. My niche is currently earning me 2.1 cents per click. Due to my advertising and what not I'm getting a decent amount of clicks. You don't always need 1$ a click in order to make decent money. The less your clicks are worth the more visitors you need to get to your site.
Yes you are right , must be a solution , what's the problem in my opinion , on my website people come for a free domain name ,they don't want to pay for it , the question is why then click an add with paid domain names.... wrong marketing , good service but not for adsense maybe
i agree with bigrollerdave, it all depends on your niche. buing on the top 10 of google is not the main thing, it is how demanding your keyword is. for example, you could be on top 10 with a keyword that retuns 200 million search results or less than 10k results. so in order to get some decent click, you need to be on the top 10 with a more competitive keyword
there are lot of sources but easiest way to do is to search google for a keyword and see how many search result that keyword returns. more result means more competition, more money, at the same time harder to get ranked high as well. but here are couple of tool you can utilize: http://www.wordtracker.com/ http://inventory.overture.com/ search overture for a keyword to see how many times a keyword is searched in a month. the result is only for the overture network and doesn;t include google. multiply the result by 5 to get approx. result for google as a rule of thumb. one thing i like about overture tool is that you search for a keyword and it shows you what other terms people search for on the same product or service. hope that helps
"Myspace Layouts" = 500k uniques a day from google alone? No way =/. People won't always click the first result
not only help your sugestion with competitive keywords is the light from the end of the tunnel , i will think again my strategy
I agree it really depends on the site and category. Some sites may be highly optimized for a few KWs and will live and die by the SERPs for those positions. Other sites do very well with a lot of KW combinations and may not have that many top positions but do very well by gettting a few clicks from many SERPs and positions all over the board. I have one site that can make $10 per day on less than 200 page loads and has no #1 positions; it can be done. I also believe in having multiple projects under way at all times in order to diversify vs. having all your eggs in one basket.
That was a conversative guess too. I was getting over 30k uniques for the term myspace layouts and I was ranked like 13th in google for the term. From what I've seen mostly teens are searching for that term and almost every teen I've seen using a search engine always goes in order starting with the first result.
well you don't really need to have soo attractive niche and you don't need to have only one website. maybe you've got something wrong there, maybe you have to work more on content or design. One of my websites is top for a certain keyword and everything is working ok... i'm planning to publish another website at the middle of November like a daily resource of fun.
