Looking on the log of my server I have accidentally found this trace: User-Agent: 6,0 Explorer IP address: 216.239.58.136. To you speculations and conjectures.
Maybe google employees are also humans (when at lunch break, while at work they're super computers indexing everything they see) and they might actually surf the web once in a while. Or.... Maybe its google bot saying its IE 6.0 to detect cloacking.
Yes!.It could be a google employee with no JS. But the web site is located Italy and is written for Italians.
Nope. . it's from a Google network: http://www.whois.sc/216.239.58.136 Could be one one of their wifi networks??

I have people from MS buy from me sometimes. They are humans too, and shop online in their free time. I wouldnt' be so concerned if someone at google were shopping at my site. I'd love for them to buy something too. I've sold to MS, Yahoo, Defense Dept, and a few other big places, google would be cool
Maybe a spot-check for AdSense TOS compliance? That is, if you're running AdSense... I noticed a hit or two as well, a couple days ago.
i just did a quick on my logfiles and found a few hits from this ip. it seems to be visiting (crawling?) my site in approximately 5 day intervals. they downloaded an mp3 file. does googlebot download anything like that?
