Is there a free php visitor tracking script. The script should be easy to plug in with a website. It should also give extensive stats like the ip of the visitors, countryetcetc. It can be either db base or file based.

I fully recommend TraceWatch at http://www.tracewatch.com/

Very easy to plug in. Run "install.php", copy a line into your pages (or a template), and away you go... Will install to DB...

I found it here last week, so I want to pass it on.

    I'm using Sales-n-Stats Free edition:
    http://www.sales-n-stats.com/free_edition.html

The tracking script is written in PHP, however the operator's terminal is a Java application downloading statistics from the server so that it is possible to analize visit statistics even off-line.

    Hope this help.

I recommend the free tracking service provided by Google Analytics. VERY simple to use - just get a free account with Google (you can use your gmail as a Google account) and add Analytics. Then a few quick questions to set up the analytics, plug in the code just before the </body> tag and you're set.

You can login to your Google account anytime and get a VERY robust report.
