yes I do use dreamhost, but I want to know out of these stats as they track the whole site not just the front page.

These figures give the server requests stats. They do not show visitors as far as I see.Requests are attempts by browsers, bots etc to access the site and may not necessarily come from humans. If you are running cpanel, please look at the icon web stats and select a month. You will see your real visitors there.

you can use www.statcounter.com . You dont need to have a button on the site for it. You just have to add the javascript code to the footer of your site and it will be added to all the pages.

From the above stats, I dont see you can track the number of Visitors. However, Successful Requests shows the number of Visits to the site. But then again, Visits are much different that Unique Visitors.

sorry to be so difficult, but I have like a gazillion individual pages, it would take me ages to add some code to them all. I just need to know which number up their is the real visitors and I think distinct hosts served is what it is...

I don't think dreamhost offers unique visitor count, well their software (Analog) is a bit confusing and "crappy" to say the least. I actually moved away from them because of that and their downtime... Move to cpanel you will love it. ;)

your host must provide awstats or webalizer right?

Get a new host if they don't.

awstats has more info, but webalizer is quick and easy, I run both in a cron job at night and then I compare the results.

from the above though, I would say your unique visitors is 312 per day for an average.

check this link out, it explains what some of that means http://www.analog.cx/docs/meaning.html its the authors site of the program that generated those stats.

Actually dreamhost don't provide it, atleast at the time I used them, I had to use Google Analytics because Analog sucks.
