Hi, I have been searching all day to try and find an answer to this question, but have been unsuccessful. I am trying to figure out how to set up an ad campaign that is targeted toward users that have visited my website and products in the past. I have seen this done with other advertisers all around the internet. For example: I go to Buy.com and am viewing a particular product, or maybe I even add this product to my shopping cart. I decide I do not want to buy this product at the moment, so I leave Buy.com and continue my internet browsing on various other websites (not even shopping anymore). For days, I will now see ads related to Buy.com and sometimes even ads directly for the item that I had been viewing at that time. These ads would have never been shown to me if I had not been on Buy.com and that particular product in the past. Also, sometimes I will see other websites (not Buy.com) showing me ads for that same exact product. These type of ads can be very enticing and encourage me to go back to Buy.com (or the website advertising me that product) and finish my purchase. These ads are very targeted. How are they creating these types of campaigns? All I can seem to find in Adwords is just standard search and keyword advertising campaigns. Also, I notice that when these targeted ads are presented to me, I can see that they are coming from ads.doubleclick.net. I have checked out double click, but it seems they are a subsidiary of adwords now. Are they different than adwords in this type of advertising. Are they who I need to be with to get this type of advertising? Any information on the subject would be helpful. Thanks!
You're probably referring to AdWords Remarketing, which is currently applicable only for the Display Network (not Search).
