Visa Service Provider status

    Hi everybody!

    Our company has an very good merchant account (quite old). We make millions of credit card transactions per year. Our risk management is also professional. We want to become a gateway to process our own transactions, and maybe process for other companies. Can anybody help me about Visa Service Provider status. What that is exactly mean? What are the benefits of this title? Is it a need to become Visa Service provider to process transactions without a help of another gateway company?

    hmm you need to apply for Visa Service provider in visa.com .. upon verification you will be approved to process your own transactions.

    Ok, so if we apply for Visa Service Porvider status then we can process our own transactions.

    I think we have to apply for a similar status at Mastercard too to process MC cards.

    And what about other company's transactions, can we process?

    Now we are only a merchant.
    After our company there are 3 others in the queue:

    Merchant (we)-> Gateway Company->aquiring bank->First Data.

    What do you know about First Data? Are they in connection with Visa and Mc, or they are the very-end processors? I hope somebody can answer my questions! This is an interesting issue for me! :)
