Viruses Used to Grow "Greener" Batteries

In the news, scientists have developed a battery that uses a common virus as an energy source. It is touted to be a greener alternative to the widely used lithium ion batteries considered to be toxic. What are they going to do next after this?

virus? facinating. all the while virus is related to disease and not thought can be used for energy

 

That is pretty interesting.
But then again, our current governments probably wont use it, because it will put the current sales out of profit.
Just look at fuel, we could drive CO2 neutral by using vegtable oil in our diesel cars, but then our government made doing that illegal, because it would put the fuel companies out of business.

Oh well, we shall see.
