virus??!!??

a few days ago my pc kept shutting down on startup or going to blue screen. obviously i had a virus on my pc. so i formatted and installed AV. however i had two seperate calls off customers saying they detected viruses on some of my downloads on my site. so now that site has been taken care of and is no longer a problem.

and now apparently one of my email accounts is spamming every 1. with totally unrelated spam (enlarge your penis) how the hell do i stop that? thats one nasty virus

 

Regarding Spam- You got to live with it. Just mark them as spam.

 

you dont understand i own the email adress the spam is coming from.. and i havnt told it to send spam.. any ideas?

this is going to all email addresses i have and does not provide a good business image plz help.

 

I'm really sorry I read your message incorrectly. If your email is acting as a spam bot then your computer is definitely infected by a worm. Try using a reputed security software to scan your computer.

In a worst case scenario your email could have been hacked. If you use outlook express on your comp make sure all security updates are applied.

Mentioning your OS would be of great help.

 

i am running a formatted version of xp home (formatted yesterday) so there is no viruses on here. i have heard that a spoofer could have been used as my site has high traffic (spoof email = sent from an email which the spoofer does not own). im not sure entirely how that works, but im guessing its not actually from me it just appears to be.

now from here the action i should take is to find the ip adress the email came from and see if it is me and if not i will contact the isp of that ip. sound like a plan?
