virus on my computer any help is appreciated (give you PR4 Sponsored link free)

    This is the page my ie opens (I can not change)

    When I look in Tools --> internet options

    http:// thecoolpics. net is shown and is locked.
    Could not even change it.

    Any help with cleanning this is appreciated.

    Reboot the PC into safe mode (F8) and try making the change again in IE.

    Have you tried Ad Aware and Spybot? What antivirus are you running?

    EDIT: Trend Micro offers a free online scan. Apparently I can't link you to it but it's right on their front page.

    Boot up in safemode
    Download AVG 7.0 Free (Google that)
    Run AVG and delete the virus :D

    If you have system restore enabled(WinXP only) be sure to turn that off and run another scan with Ad Aware. You can turn the system restore feature back on after that.
