Virus infected backlinks

    While working on a clients site I noticed they have a few virus infected backlinks. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove them, and can the links effect the website negatively?

    Just inform the owner of the site who is affected with virus that your site is attacked by virus just remove else you will be ban from the Google. This will work to you..

    You should contact the owner of the website and inform them about these viruses. However you will not be banned by google, don't worry.
    You will only be banned for anything that you can control on your own website as you do not have any influence on external websites and google knows this.
