My computer keeps popping up messages to me that I am low on virtual memory. How can I increase this? I am running XP as an OS.

To change your virtual memory setting, do these steps:

    1. Right click on My Computer icon on your desktop and choose Properties.

    2. Under System Properties windows, click on Advanced Tab.

    3. Then, click on Setting under Performance section.

    4. Then click on Advanced Tab

    5. Change your virtual memory at the bottom of Performance Options windows.

Yeah, i think 2.5 times the amount of RAM you have installed is the recommended virtual memory size.

Be warned, though, that increasing the memory size now would lead to more fragmentation on your system. Ideally this sort of thing is done just after a fresh OS install :)

I also find having a bit of a spring clean works wonders especially deleting old images i no longer need.
