No internet, Anywhere in the world, Sounds nightmarish? If the results of a survey conducted and development, London, Which predict that by 2011 the Internet will crash due to acute IP addresses are to be delivered, then your nightmare might just come true.

Lets face it, we all depend on Internet hugely on the Internet today from research to socialising to storing confidential data, it's all web-reliant companies and digital businesses would come to a half too. Tech geeks worldwide are predicting that if the freeway passages of the IP addresses are not restricted, the internet might soon become an abyss. With 85 percent of the addresses already allocated and rest expected to be in exactly three year from now, doomsday doesn't seem far.

So do we have reason to worry? Apparently not. Says David Appaswamy, chief communication officer, Sify Technologies Limited. "This is not going to happen. While it is true that IPv4 will run out of addresses by 2011, many companies, including ours, are already on IPv6, which has a near infinite number of addresses. What it means is that everyone will have to start moving to IPv6 capable networks. IPv4 and IPv6 will work side by side, so there is absolutely no question of any crash."

Interesting stuff. Though it does beg the question - how would we live without the internet? It's only been around for 15 or so years and it's already proven to be one of the most important assets of our time.

This is similar to the W2K issues, if you still remember. But everything goes fine after

i've read that all they're going to have to do is make a longer system, all it will require is that new systems include this and that perhaps older systems are allowed an optional download.

Where did you get the story? can you post the sources? I like to read the full story of it. Sounds very interesting. But it is truly a nightmare if there will be no internet in the future, I have live half of my life with internet so I think I can not leave within a weak that is no internet. I will freak out for sure.
