Netsafe is hdfcbank service i think. Its for bank customers only. Open hdfc website and you will see it under Online services. I can get more details from my friend regarding this if you want.

Is some thing like that is offered by ICICI. I can't open account in HDFC because there is not any branch in our locality.

They have it but it is more of a cumbersome process than just having a credit rating. :)

    Hi,

Copy pasted what you said to him he replied.

"Rasgulla" :D (Dunno what is it).

Plus he gave me an update he was checking his transactions. There was Paypal transaction which was of 0.00. But his paypal he verified. He wants to know why he is not charged $1.95 ? Is this normal ? Now he is worried that paypal may not ban his account

    Please shed some light.

Since I've both ICICI and HDFC bank credit cards, I might be helpful a bit in this topic..

First of all, your HDFC international debit card won't work with PayPal. If you wanna verify your PayPal account, you must have a credit card. Though I have never tried VCC because of the account suspension risk, I did try gCard.

With a worldwide ATM cards like gCard and others in this category, you get a "virtual" bank account in USA that can be used only for ACH transfers.

I read some posts about GoOpen Sirrus card in this thread. I think it works in the same way as does the gCard.

As far as ICICI bank is concerned, if your FD is high, you'll automatically become eligible to get a credit card. :) The same thing happened in my own case.

Btw, I'll like to ask one question to you folks who are experienced with HDFC NetSafe. Even I use NetSafe.. but I'm not aware how do you get a HDFC virtual debit card. Could you please guide me at this point?

The remaining amount will be transfered back to your account after 1 month i guess....

If you create a virtual card and you didn't use it...then the full amount will be transfered back within 4-5 days....

But if you created a card of say $10 and used just $5 for shopping then the remaining $5 will be credited back to your account within a month....

And thanks a lot Abhilash for that great info:)
Well i read this thread long after diwali...so you missed your laddos:)

    Regards.

If Paypal is verified by HDFC Netsafe card, then its very very useful. Its a happy news to indian friends(like me) without CC, strugling to verify Paypal.
    Thanks a lot Abhilash :)
