Hello designers, I require a logo designed with a Web 2.0 stylistic feel, bold and impactful, reflecting the theme and color palette provided below. I will provide constructive feedback to all entrants, up until contest closing. I will select only 1 winner, but may also make custom offers to runners up to acquire rights to any logos I would like to consider for future use (in addition to the winner). Biz name: Viral Age Inc. Note: If you feel that the "Inc." part disrupts your design you may leave it out. Period (.) is optional. Optional preliminary working tag line: "Multiply Your Users" Idea: Software that focuses on the viral nature of the Internet and the social web. Delivery Format: Illustrator (vector format) + PNG. Size: I would prefer it to be more width dominated (rectangular). Should stay within 350x100 (L x W) in dimensions (preferred). Motif: Please use your creativity to introduce design elements that reflect the theme, such as borrowing from the concept of "viral spreading" or interesting elements of virology that do a good job to express the theme in your opinion. Color Palette Desired: The image above displays the blue/gray dominated color scheme that will be used for the website template. The logo should be designed to fit with these basic colors, may incorporate some of them (as needed). Note: The logo most likely will be placed over a dark/black header background. Web 2.0 Logo examples: http://www.logotwo.com/ Payment Method: I will pay via PayPal or directly via credit card if you have a billing system available. Fine print: Winner must agree to transfer full copyright to me, for unrestricted future use, royalty free. Please do not incorporate any graphic elements for which you do not hold the copyright. Please, no stolen or purchased designs. Original work desired by skilled artists. Thank-you for your help. I have seen some fantastic design work done here, and I cannot wait to see your submissions! =) Let me know if you have any questions. Joe
@scorpionagency: Very strong start. You're setting the bar high. I really like your use of the colors. The icon part is eye catching, but may have a bit too many small details (gray circles). I'm not sure. I think I might either lose or reposition the INC, and fully justify the tagline with the "Viral Age" part. Nice work.
Wow - very high quality submissions here. I like them all, and you guys have really done a fantastic job staying true to the color palette. @scorpionagency: I like the revised version better. Reducing the gray circles worked. Also looks better without the inc part here. I would probably use the same case for caps with "Multiply Your Users" or "multiply your users". This text may have worked better in the thinner font you used in the first version, and then having it's horizontal width across the logo equal the width of "ViralAge". However, I understand your concept, and no need for further revisions. @nidhi1100@gmail.com I like your use of color and boldness. Lots of impact here. I am not quite sure about the particular icon you have selected though. Raising the "Age" part is an interesting take I was not expecting. It's a creative idea, but I don't think it works because the weight/size of both fonts in "Viral" and "Age" are so similar. @khnfrhn: I really like the color tones you have been able to bring out here. I would not like the version with the hazard sign only because that represents danger of some sort and better reflects the theme of virus as an "illness causing organism". =) I never thought of just using a user styled icon before to represent the tagline better. I would use the version without the "inc", but perhaps the 3rd version with the wave colored background. The tagline font does not work so great. Perhaps we could get the icon to represent the idea of "multiple users" better, as it currently probably symbolizes "add one", whereas viral nature is a more exponential increase. @slycer: You have given some very nice ideas of color variations here. I like the power of the text over the white background, even though I will most likely use a dark background. I think, however, that the use of VA as an icon bit is redundant because the V and A appears so prominently in the spelled out "ViralAge" part. @Matt_B: You're now a front runner. So far you have what appears to be the best hit on color, impact, theme representation, and Web 2.0 styling. The instinctive reaction I had to this logo makes me believe it may be difficult to bump you out of a leadership position. However, there are a lot of amazing designers here. =) Brilliant work here. Powerful even in its understatement. That makes for a great logo. @biruhato: Hey biruhato. I cancelled the contest the previous time and started two others instead. Since one designer was working on something prior to my cancellation, I paid him a $10 fee for his submission although I was not interested in using the design submitted. I felt that was fair since he had started working on a concept before I stopped the contest. There were no other submissions at the time. This contest will not be cancelled. You can check my iTrader comments for the last contest I held if you have any concerns. Thank-you for bringing this up as there may have been other designers hesitant to participate for the same reason. @OaldDesign: Your design has a "rockstar" feel to it. I like it. Version 2 w/ the dark background works the best for me. I think I would drop the INC part. The only issue here is that the start is not a fantastic representation of the theme, and it does certainly change the feeling the design evokes. While it looks great, I'm not sure it would work for what I'm looking for. Thanks to everyone for your designs. Very high calibre stuff all around. =) I am looking forward to seeing a few more options before picking a winner.
Unless anyone else is interested in participating in this contest, I am ready to close it and select a winner. If you have a design you intend to post, please indicate it here asap, and I will wait for the submission. =)
Thank-you all for your great submissions. I have selected Matt B as the winner with this submission: Matt - please PM me your PayPal email address so that I can send your payment.
