viral marketing

    Hello,
    i was wondering if viral marketing is legal to do?
    I mean: when people sign up : ask them if they want there friends to know about this site too : [ example: acces to his myspace/facebook/msn etc.. ] and email all his 'friends' about this site.
    Legal or not?

    Sure its legal, assuming it's opt in and you aren't just taking over the users accounts.
