Viral marketing? Where, what and how?

    Ive heard a lot about so-called viral marketing, or 'trafficking' lately, as a way to increase traffic and visitors. Does anyone know where and who offers this kind of service? Or if there are any articles or tutorials about it?

    I'm thinking about this for my new blog site I have in the oven! I do have money to spend if necessary (though free or cheap is better!)

    Fizzz, I don't know if I understood your question well, but you can create your own viral traffic.

    For example:

    Put a tell a friend script on your thank you page and offer a freebie to incentive people. This is Free http://www.viralscript.com

    Create a video that calls the attention and people have to talk about it and submit it to the different video sharing sites.

    Create a free rebrandable report. Those that want to rebrand it have to come to you to get the rebrander software. http://www.viralpdf.com

    I think you get the idea.

    And some sites will accept a video ad of your site on their site. Most won't though, due to download speed of their page. Putting up an ad that directs it to your video is the next best thing.

    Well I don't know if anybody else is doing it this way, but it's working for me.

    I'm a partner in a Viral Spiral site with Holly Mann.

    The way it is set up, is this, at the moment.

    On the front end, we give away Free reports through a squeeze page.

    After going through the squeeze page, they are taken to a Viral Friend Generator Tell a friend form, where they get an added bonus, for telling friends.

    Also, the links are all cloaked with Viral Link Tracker so it gets adds shown on other people sites whenever the links are clicked.

    So, because it's a Viral Spiral site, people that decide to, can build their list inside our site, which in turn builds our list.

    Then, the tell a friend form allows more visitors to our squeeze pages, and because there are ads shown across other peoples sites, "these ads all direct people to one of our squeeze pages again", so it gets more people thus into our list again.

    So basically, it's like a cascade of viral traffic.
