Chapter 0: what is viral marketing ? we all know what viral marketing means, marketing efforts that replicate themselves over and over to give you unsurpassed marketing results 10, 100, 1000, 10000 ..... so on but what is and isnt viral marketing ? if you were to use viral marketing for your website who would u look up to ? so leme list out some case studies and you guys can pitch in Hotmail, obvious viral success, they just added a small signature at the end of every email send out and 'voila' 8.5 million subscribers (back in 1997) Youtube, another simple story, people were uploading videos and sharing links with their friends....and now 100 million videos served a day and then there was google.... we all know what happened there but the most beautiful example of viral marketing has to be the 'bum marketing report' .... this report went viral like "i love you" so i ll examine this in detail but there were also few reports who were offering 1$ for every free download, with two tire comissions, even though many would argue that this too went viral.. but according to me... if the guy ends up shelling out 60 000 $ .. then whats the point.... so we'r gonna leave that one out (had that report been comission free.... would anyone had forwarded it to anyone) anyways... what do you think ?

hey thanks for the recomendation, i am reading it right now, but it looks more vague than specific, i am rather working on a much smaller and specific concept... either ways... will see how it goes
