I completley underestimated how many people still use IE6, nearly 30% of my users for one of my sites this month have been IE6 and my site is abit messed up in it. Had I known this many people still use it, I would of tried to fix it. I heard there's a program you can use to view your site in IE6 and IE7 on the same computer, anyone know the best one?
There are a couple of options such as running Microsoft Virtual PC or running IE 7 standalone. Check this site. http://www.communitymx.com/content/article.cfm?page=3&cid=8897D It details each method and there pros and cons. I use Virtual PC. good luck
IE6 realy sucks, IE7 is a bit better but still has some quirks. Sad thing is you now need to manage three css files Damn Microsoft can't seem to get anything right, not even after numerous attmepts
You could also try to say people using IE6: "You're using IE6, this site can better be viewed in IE7 or another up-to-date browser". That could be achieved with by example PHP browscap() function ... but note that we're working server-side than. I don't know if you have PHP enabled on your webserver?
DeViAnThans3 yeh that is an option, but I think unless your site is HUGE people using IE 6 will just leave rather than go update to IE 7
Actually it isn't that hard to make it work in IE6 aswell. There is a way to have multiple ie's.. Try this
