I'm looking for advice from you guys regarding TV shows we're hosting on Brightcove. The situation as it stands right now is they're very popular with the people who know about them, but we've been locking them down to our domain and throwing banners around them. It's making a little money, over 2% CTR (AdSense only so far), but there's just no way to get new users without mass forum/news spamming, and we have no budget. So I'm trying to decide if it'd be worth it to just overlay a bigger logo/URL of our site and let anyone syndicate the videos (beg people to post it in news and other tactics). Some of us can see ups and downs to this -- I'm for letting anyone take it, but some feel no one would need to come to us then, and that Brightcove would probably never find advertisers for it unless it got millions of views (I don't know anyone using BC that's ever gotten advertisers yet through their usual way, so I'm assuming you need a lot). I guess we could also find sponsors and inlay their logos into the videos, but this is pretty difficult seeing as there's no way to track unique plays on the videos... BC only shows "titles played" and obviously can't see get stats through any analytics programs on other sites. Anyways I'm a developer and marketing isn't my thing, and there's a lot of choices here, so anyone with experience on this; your advice is very welcome.
