Video Uploading & 'Remote Desktop'

Ok, so, any help on this would be appreciated.

Say for example I have a 100mb video file that I want to upload to 5 or so different video sharing sites. Obviously uploading the same file 5 times will be a slow process and equivalent to uploading 500mbs (I have residential DSL, upstream around 20-25kbps).

So my question is this: is it possible to set up some form of remote desktop on your server so that you can upload one video ONCE and then go and upload it to different video sites, utilizing the faster bandwidth of your provider?

Also, Veoh allows you to upload directly from a URL - I don't believe this is possible for other sites such as YouTube, Metacafe, etc. Anyone know how this can be done?

Thanks very much and my apologies if this is in the wrong section. Any tips on expediting the video upload process without taking a huge hit to your personal bandwidth would be greatly appreciated.
