Video Site Layout With CALLS TO ACTION!!! $350 Paypal!!! (PSD ONLY)

Hello DP!!!!

I'm here to hope you all can design me the BEST video site layout online. Everyone told me this project was so important we should go to 99Designs, but I have had so much success at DP I'm staying here!

No Logo is needed, just a one page layout for a kickass video site.

www.strategyvideos.com is our old design, it's boring! Give me some WOW!

Here is a cool design: www.dragthebar.com I love his "signup now" button for a call to signup. I also love his main area, but the bottom half of his design to me is very poor - we can do better!

Now let me tell you a little about our project, we are "Strategy Videos" for skill games, including poker and casino games. What's even better is we pay our users to upload strategy videos! That's right, anyone who uploads a video will have the ads on the page under their affiliate accounts, this is GROUNDBREAKING as a way to compete with youtube. Earn While You Learn!

Now, here is where DP comes in - I need help conveying that message!

"EARN WHILE YOU LEARN" - that's the message, but also "GET PAID TO MAKE VIDEOS". Do you guys have any ideas???

I'm paying $350 for the best layout concept via Paypal, guaranteed!

Attached is a general mockup I did, it kind of sucks - I hope you can take it to the next level.

Also attached is a mascot we might use, it is NOT REQUIRED to use the mascot for this design since we don't know if we will use it.

Note: The "Main Area" can be a video, but I also want to see concepts that fit an explanation of what our site concept is, this is a BIG challenge DP.

I know you designers will make me stop worrying and give me a great product to work with. We expect to have to expand it and continue design, so please just help me get started.

Remember, no logo is needed - just a layout. Feel free to incorporate the mascot only IF you think it works.

I'm trying to find other video sites as an example. Let's GO GO GO DP! Contest ends when we find a suitable design. Please don't duplicate the layout below, it's only a ROUGH guide - be creative!

 

Hi, please tell the color scheme of the layout, that you may like.

I'm completely open to color scheme, we really need some help with that. A blue/grey/white does seem to work well though. Feel free to be creative!

 

Also I wanted to add some main points:

User ratings are a big part of this sites quality control mechanism.

Featured videos need to be prominently displayed by category: (poker, blackjack, backgammon)

It's also important to convey the message of earning money for uploading. GO DP! I'm more excited for this contest than any other one I've held, ever! I'm going to be giving a LOT of feeback on this one!

I'd like to see social media icons included too actually. The rating style is similar to Digg in function, but any "share" type features are welcome.

I see some things I like and some things I don't like, will give feedback for this after I see another entry concept.

Quick feeback:

Nice start, quality is fine just not enough in layout. Not sure why you added phone number bubble, and we don't need a logo I'll post a new logo for people to use as a reference. Thank you for being the brave first entry, I am anxious for more and wow was that fast!

 

I'm uploading a transparent logo that anyone can use, it's a PSD file and I'm editing the OP to include it.

I'm not that fond of this logo, but feel free to work it in and use it to avoid designing your own. We are looking for a great layout that makes us go WOW!

In your layout, you mentioned to give phone numbers and I found it unique above the logo. So added it there. Even I thought that the quality became bad but just uploaded it so that I could get the reviews mainly for the header and the sections below that, etc. Now gotta go to sleep, was working on this since 11:30 pm and now it about 3:30am here. Will give a neat one tomorrow. Good night

Hi, great entry!

I like the dark, it's a bit too dark - not sure if I'm into black I only gave the dragthebar reference as an extremely vague example. We'd have to think about what parts to change but that's my quick feedback. In general I think a more blue/grey/white style "lighter" site is probably the way to go, this is just too black. Anyways thats the first of my feedback....

Would you try two things?

1. add the mascot and logo I added to the OP for full effect and...

2. there needs to be a "main area" above the "recently watched" videos you have now, for the sake of visual effect let's make that main area a video. Call it the "featured video" or whatever, make sense?

Looking forward to it! I realize it takes some people a day or two to get an entry in, I try not to ask for a ton of revisions either - this was some quick entries, thanks so much for that!

 

The color isn't that good, but you or I could edit that later.
I've edited a little to the layout as well.
