I am searching for awhile for a great script to play videos and pics, i like the funny jokes and funny pics socialmedia has to offer. Really need the script to convert videos to flash exactly like youtube so big files can play super smooth even in full screen.I like the scrolling last watched videos and pics mediasharesuite has. I like the profile stuff and pic gallerys from abble.
I would need a state of the art forum also with my script, i have another fully active site i need to trasfer all the content basically to this new script very state of the art so i can secure some sponsers and have a fine adsense campaign and some good affilates. The ones i am considering....
    mediasharesuite
    rayzz
    clip-share
    entertainmentscripts
    abbledating
    altrasoft
    attachmax
    digitalvideoportal

I really like the mediasharesuite the best so far!
I am thinking future, and i want to make sure the company i choose will expand and offer lots of support for resonable money and i will be eligible for awesome upgrades as they are available even if they will cost more money. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Steven

Hello there. I'm not an expert, as I'm going through all this myself, but I hope I can lend some advice based on hard-won experience.

Basically, when selecting a multimedia solution, you need to consider the following:

    1) Features - What exactly do you want the script to actually do? Do you just want video, or do you need pure audio support as well? Only Flash, or do you want the ability to play other formats? Social Networking?
    2) Maintenance - You have to consider future upgrades and such. This includes the possibility that the original creator may become defunct, and therefore your solution should have a good code base to make it easier for another developer to take over if needed.
    3) Scalability - Can this script handle high traffic? What kind of load does it put on the server? Can this script be easily tweaked if needed to deal with loads of users?
    4) Stability/Security - Greatest features in the world mean nothing if your site is constantly hacked or if your script crashes when more than 10 people are using it.
    5) Cost - Not just the price of the script. What about adding features? Code enhancements? Even custom coding. This is important for folks who are already using a CMS frontend (i.e., Joomla, Drupal, etc.) and want to bridge applications.

Be sure to use your checklist for every site you develop, as a script that's perfect for, say, a personal site may just not work on an enterprise level. For example, for one site I'm developing, based upon the above criteria, I am having a completely custom script developed. For other sites, I will be using a pre-made one (probably modified) to accomplish what I want.

Again, in the end, it's all based upon what you need.

Thanks great advice, the most important feature i want is videos and pics streaming very smooth in full screen mode. I want to have selected members upload videos and pics with ease with flash conversion for every video.
I dont want a social network just members who sign up for newsletters etc so i can email them with products and updated videos.
I have been thinking about buying mediasharesuite.com script and turn off the stuff i dont need and hype up the stuff i do need. I alreday own a clip-share clone and have videos on it so i was thinking about buying a list of addons but addons will cost me double what a new script with the features already there!
    Thanks alot

Hey, if you already have a working clip-share clone members like, why not use a scaled-down CMS/news script and bridge the two? Many if not most CMS-type programs have plugins you can add or not depending upon what you need. And many of them are free, GPL, and Open Source. The only reason I'm leaning in this direction is because I've seen a lot of people start with just one thing, and then another, and then another, only to find out they should have gone with an application framework in the first place and just add what they want as they go along (far easier in the long run).

Bridging doesn't cost much (assuming you aren't going to do it yourself).

If you haven't already, head on over to OpenSourceCMS (opensourcecms.com) and test actual scripts so you can see what you like. Don't let the name fool you - that site lets you test more than CMS programs. There are TONS of installed scripts fof you to fully test on their servers (both admin and frontend). Hope this helps!
