It's cute cause it's a wee monkey. Plus it seems happy so no harm done.

For all you know it's parents could have died and thats why it was taken in by people.

If it was from a breeder then it probably wouldn't survive in the wild anyway. Thats why I don't agree about people who set animals which are used to being pets into the wild, it's pretty pointless.

    Are you for real?

So you only wanted "ooooh how cute, I want a monkey!" replies...

    Pffft....

Layla is a primate marmoset monkey. There is no way in the world that she would survive in the jungle or her habitat. She knows no difference because I have had her since she was just a baby.

Therefore she'll never related to anything else but humans. She will live to be about 20 years old. Meaning I'm in my 40's and I plan I taking care of her till she passes.

I love her and she is loved. That's what matters! I wake up and feed her just like a mother would. I give her a wonderful home and environment to be surrounded upon.

I simply posted a video of her. Does she look unhappy to you ? I will be posting more videos up soon and more pictures on her web site.

But I didn't think I would get attacked from a peta.org member. Like I said. Peta.org is a great organization but I do disagree with some of their beliefs.

Of course not! Not everyone likes dogs, cats, or hamsters. Some people don't like you. Some people don't like me. I've owned monkeys before. I love monkeys. I posted on this forum to share Layla with everyone. Even if you don't like Layla or the idea that a human (primate) owns a marmoset (primate) monkey.

No one forced you to post on this topic. I didn't post to want attention. I posted just like others do to share their work, their lives and other information. You have the right to post on this topic. I can't stop you. But at least be realistic. You are fast to comment. But you don't have all the facts. You don't know if Layla was abandoned. Yes this happens even with monkeys like it does real babies. So I guess if this was the case she's to starve to death ?

For someone who obviously loves monkeys, you don't find that just a little bit sad? It's all about supply and demand.

You obviously love your monkey and believe you have every right to own her. I simply think it's uncool, and not even remotely cute.
Let's just agree to disagree. We're both bashing our heads against brick walls here. :)
