My retarded brother who knows nothing about computers copied this film from the original DVD that a friend got for Christmas as he wanted to store it on his computer. Somehow, he managed to convert it into .avi but guess what he did afterwards. As he named the files, he used the syntax "file.avi.001" "file.avi.002" "file.avi."003" the numbers representing the number of the video file. So now the computer think the numbers are the format of the video and it won't let me play them in any media player. I've tried changing the format back to .avi by renaming them "file.avi" and that worked as it's now identified as an AVI file but it still won't play . Is there any way to remedy this ? I've used the Ace Media Player which supposedly plays all video formats (got it from Google) but that won't work either.
those are probably splitted files. just put them on a folder and join 'em using HJSplit, you can find it here: http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/
