What's the best video editor for Windows? Free of paid software, it doesn't really matter.

I think Adobe Premier is really good. Really expensive though.

Ulead Video Studio is pretty good as well, for about 1/5th the price.

Both have free trials if you are looking to test them out.

Thanks for the siggestions. I need something more powerful than Windows Movie Maker. But Adobe Premeire sounds good. I have also heard of AVID, final cut, and Sony Vegas.

I would definately recommend Sony Vegas, but the cost effective solution is Windows Movie Maker. Then, if your after something special for your video, Adobe After Effects.

I'm using Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 and it delivers just about anything you can imagine. Most of my friends are on a Mac (I know you want Windows) and they use Final Cut Pro.

Is your goal to produce broadcast quality video? Indi movies? Corporate? Weddings?

Knowing the end use will help to provide context for the advice.

I'd recommend Adobe Premier as well, unless you want to do some everyday simple editing then just use Window Movie Maker.
