It's been a while since I have been involved with Video Editing, especially on the Mac. I know that Final Cut Pro is still the most highly regarded editing app for this platform, but I also know that Premiere has recently come back to the Mac, after being discontinued several years earlier. Does anyone out there know how the two of them compare? Is Premiere as solid on the Mac as it is on the PC? And if not, what other serious editing programs are out there for the Mac? Will I be forced to use Avid?
I'd still go for FCP.. first of all it will run smooth on a mac no matter what...it was a program designed specifically for a mac. now you were asking about the difference between premier, fcp and avid... the difference it none.. all programs are designed to edit cut and finalized your video. its not so much on what program your using, its more of how you cut the video! well good luck on your project!
premiere pro is very easy way with .avi capture for big verysize. fcp is easy too export for .mov and more small size than premiere avid is good too, i use all of the program to edit my videos project now i use premiere pro & FCP, and after effect for more visual edited.
have used Adobe Premier CS4 on the mac and its a fantastic cheaper solution than using FCP. Its as lenient as it is on the PC if not better. If you want something in between try final cut express.
Yes, FCP is a force to be reckoned with. Premiere is good for some things, but stick with FCP for all around best results. Good luck!
