One of my clients has asked if we can put their commercial DVD onto their website. The format is currently some sort of DVD format with several files attached. The formats of the files in the DVD are; .BUP .IFO .VOB Is there any way I can convert these into a format which is useable via a website. Also, which video format would you recommend as being ideal for a website? (e.g. mpg, flash etc)
I'm trying out this piece of software; http://www.avs4you.com It converts VOB files to SWF. I'd been very keen to use a Flash file for compatibility reasons and my research has shown that Flash is the best way to go in terms of displaying videos for filesize and quality and compatibility. I think theres a few which use a smaller filesize but whats the use of that if its not as compatible?

There is tons of software to convert dvd's to file on your computer and then you could upload... the one i use if handbrake... it is for mac if that is what you are looking for. http://handbrake.fr/
flv is becoming more and more popular, Youtube's video format is also flv. Most browser embed Adobe flash player as plug-in, so I think flash may be best choice for a website. To convert DVD to web video, you could try Moyea DVD for web converter (http ://w ww.flash-video-mx.com/dvd4web-converter/ ) this program converts DVD to flash video(flv/mp4/mov/3gp/3g2) with H.264 codec.
