Hey everyone! I am taking an advertising class at school. I need to do a promotional commercial for an online university. My theme is about how taking classes online allows people to have more freedom in how they go about their lives. The motto of my ad campaign is simple "This is what I want." It's spun from the idea that people go to college to get something they want, a degree. Unfortunately to get a degree, you have to make sacrifices. Traditionally, one sacrifice is time in class. With online schooling, you can have class anywhere you have internet access. But to do my idea I need your help, so here's the contest. Submit a video of you saying the line "This is what I want!" Make sure to leave plenty of lead-in time before you speak, and roll-out time after. Please don't let it be some standard web cam shot with the camera mounted on your monitor. I want to see you on a laptop, or at a computer. I would also like to see something unique. If you live near something interesting, perhaps a famous landmark, get a shot of you looking like your studying or on your laptop with that landmark clearly visible. Remember to say with excitement "This is what I want." Think about how you would do school online, and where the possibilities would be where you could check on e-mail, or chat on school forums. So, for the contest, here's what I've come up with: $15 for the most remote location. The location has to be unique, clear, and the clip has to stay with the theme. $15 for the best quality. This will include the quality of the video, lighting, background, audio, convincingness of the person. $15 for the best family oriented video. What I mean is one that shows that you are a full time parent taking classes online. $15 for the most traditional aged video. I think another selling point is for the 18-22 year olds to have more time to enjoy life than to sit in lectures all day long. My two project teammates and I will judge the videos and the winners will be announced by 11/1/08. Rewards will be sent via pay pal.
