Video Ads

First off I thought that they did away with the video ads, but have noticed quite a few of them on some of my sites lately.

Question that comes into play is: How do I get paid for these ads and is there an autoplay function for them or do they need to be played by the user?

I think you are talking about something different.
They did do away with video ad units, but brought in
something to replace it. Click to play or something.

They only work in some ad format sizes and you can enable/disable
    them.

I think they work the same way. Someone clicks to view.

No, these video ads are appearing in 300x250 ad blocks.

I have never setup any video type ads.

A word of advice... I noticed you are running google ads on your tv show streaming website. If anyone reports you you will be banned from adsense. I'd remove the ads immediately and look for alternative means to monetize the website.
Even though you are not hosting illegal content yourself even just linking to it or embedding illegal content and making money from adsense on such a website is against google TOS

I think google has a new ad format or something.

People have all sorts of opinions, but why do you think google includes
an embed code? Because they want you to share videos. You can put
them on a commercial site, so long as you are not competing with youtube.
Being what is really a search engine for TV videos is not against any TOS.

There are other video sites as well. if the videos are against anything, the
originating site will take it down. Google itself streams videos on youtube of
all sorts of things, TV shows, movies, etc. and even overlays them with ads.
