Look, I'd like to live in a relatively safe society just as much as the next guy. But I'm trying to be realistic here. I doubt in our lifetime we'll seriously see an age where we can leave valuables in the car and expect them to be okay. Call me a cynic if you'd like, but that's what I believe.
I know exactly what your feeling and if you've read 'The Prince' by Machiavelli(sp) then you'll know that nothing has changed and it's not likely to, people will always be corruptable. In the same it states that a man will waste his (or her) life if they try to change anything by leading a virtuous life. Sad but true.
Cynical moi? I'm secretly trying to make the world a better place but don't tell anyone I told you....
Ya, not sure about the whole 'must have been a crackhead' thing. Ever met anyone with addictions problems? I don't mean a bum on the street or a hooker on the corner but MET someone, KNEW someone? It's not all about them choosing to steal or whatever - there's a mental break there whether they were abused (like 85% are) or tried it once at a party and could never again put down the pipe or whether there was a psychological problem from the getgo. Every addict is born an addict, we are the intolerant and uneducated ones who blame them. When they're using they are different people and I can promise you they HATE themselves and HATE what they're doing. They are incapable of stopping, regardless of the fact that they know it's wrong and that they try to stop themselves. Don't lay blame and generalize unless you know who did it and why.
But that car cost me £5000 and i bet the original posters stuff was worth alot aswell. There greedy and selfish who everyone else has to feel sorry for. Well i dont!
Yeah. Crime is so retarded. I know Denise disagree's with this; but I am same way. I am an incredibly calm person; infact I wouldn't hurt anyone who didn't deserve it; and always protect those who can't. Now, you threaten my family; my friends; or myself. heh. Let's just say this is where you will find my not-so-non-violent self. I cannot comprehend why someone wants to completely mess up something someone has worked (and most likely hard) for. Something in me snaps, and well; it is never a pretty ending. I never new what came out of this one guy. He was threatening my girlfriend at the time; I did too, everything I could do to calm him down, and he just wouldn't stop. He started pushing her and myself and I just snapped and slugged him in the mid-range left side of his face and he fell straight to the floor. I am not sure what the outcome of that was (or the damage done), but an ambulance had to come and get him. When they were taking him away he had regained consciencess, however, could not move his jaw (so I assumed I broke/fractured it). I do not know why people have to be such jerks. I do not like hurting people at all; however, their are times when sadly violence is the only answer, because it will not come down to the "we can talk it out" stuff, but the "kill or be killed" so to speak.
Dear Denise Back in highschool it was always "if you wear these cloths you are the cool group", or if you "have this new toy" you are cool. Where I live, If you havn't had your car broken into and something jacked from it; well, your just not cool I seriously think people around here are like "you seriously havn't had your car broken into ?" It's sad... yes; but sort of funny in that cruel sense of humor way.
