Maybe it was a roaming gang of vigilante homophobe thugs who thought you were a gay junkie (you were in the area) and they were merely trying to teach you a lesson. It happens, people misjudge others all the time.
No, you misunderstood. I don't mean people who dislike gays are thugs. I mean people who go around breaking into cars and commiting crimes are thugs. Just saying, maybe they targeted your car because of where it was parked. You know, to mess with gay crackheads, maybe you were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
I never lock mine either. I leave my cell phone in it all the time and it always has like $20 in change and bills too. I guess I'll learn my lesson one day
I don't know lorien, I think they enjoy the thrill of breaking the window first. An unlocked car is just no fun.
Grafstein, what were you doing hanging around with gay crackheads? You should know that couldn't end well!
I used to be like that for years, then one day it started. Within a year I had like 5 breakins, even when the car was locked. But in Pacific Beach it's not crackheaded fags, it's the tweakers who roam the alleys at night and steal whatever they can get their hands on.
hahahaha I leave my car in the car park because i know someone local. You would see me round those parts of town
Even on this little island I live on in Hawaii, the crack and meth problem is way out of control, all sorts of crime because of it. Just horrible.
Surely what we should be working towards is a society where we CAN do this? My grandparents always used to prattle on about how they could leave their front door unlocked. They always said they could do this because potential theives knew they'd get a kicking from the police if they got caught. Violence works? There has to be a better way. Great that the police now have a quick method to get stolen good serial numbers listed tho...
seriously, who leaves this easy-to-steal and worth $$$ devices in a car? yeah thats bad when it happens, but i could my much worse: my whole car was stolen last year during my roadtrip. there was not much valuable stuff in it (some camping gear), but some important papers, like my flight license, insurance papers and all the other important stuff you dont keep in your wallet. got my car back (without the stuff i had in it), but had to pay ~$2000 for repairs.
