    Hi all

Very Very new to this so stay with me.

    My question is;
I have had word press blog set up to my site, i am getting subject articles posted. Do i need to set up accounts with other blogs like blogger etc to post the articles on them ? or can i just use word press?

I have read that word press can be set to ping other blog sites and i know the person who set mine up has done this. Does this send the article to other sites and if it does then i don't need to set up accounts with other blog sites and update each one every time i post a new article ?

Any advice on this would be great, i know it's probably a stupid question but i have only been looking into this just over a week

Blogger is a blog service that let's you create your own blog but I presume you mean pinging services like Technorati?

I think you're confusing article directories with services you can use to ping. With article directories like ezine.com, you need to register and post the article there. Even with social media such as StumbleUpon or Digg, you have to register first.

However, to ping websites if it's already been set up through Wordpress for you, you don't need to anything.

If you'd like more help with questions about starting up on wordpress the forum in my sig link will prove to be a good resource ;)

Thanks for the reply, i have registered on your sig also.

Ok i am getting a little idea.

I suppose in a nutshell what i am asking is:

To get max juice from Blogging do i need to register with several services like, word press, blogger.com etc etc and every time i have a new article i have to go to all my services and add the new article ?

Or can i just use word press which is automatically set to ping:
    ://rpc.pingomatic.com/
    ://www.blogpeople.net/servlet/weblogUpdates
    ://bulkfeeds.net/rpc
    ://ping.myblog.jp
    ://ping.bitacoras.com
    ://ping.bloggers.jp/rpc/
    bblog.com/ping.php

Will this then give the maximum juice to save going to all my services and putting on the latest article ?

Then go to Digg and post on there with a link to my wordpress latest article etc etc.

Any guidance here would be really appreciated but please please write it in dummy proof mode or i simply won't understand.

If i am still way of track would you mind posting a step by step guide of what to do when i have a new artcile to add to get it out there for maximum juice.

I would sign up for the blogging sites like Technorati where you can list your blog and a description of it. This gives you exposure. As far as reposting your article all over and signing up for another blog to re-list your articles no. Blogger is a site for blogs not to repost your blog. Most sites will get your feed through pinging. Spend you time advertising in places that are related to your topic. Many say digg is great but to me, unless you make the front page, the traffic is nothing. I would suggest Stumble Upon because you will at least get traffic. It is not great traffic but if you have an interesting article you could get a lot of viewers.

I had one of my post that received 4000 views and many reviews on Stumble. I had a few sign up for my blog and it took all of 30 seconds to stumble the article.

Also find forums that are related to your topic and join and with out spamming, refer to your blog as often as possible. Basically in simple terms, go where the people who would read your topic hang out and let them know you exist.

    Brilliant thanks so much.

So if i just use word press when i have a new article and sign up to sites like stumble upon /Technorati etc and then from these sites give them the description point them to the new article (In word press) i have created i don't need to use other blogs like blogger.

So it's really just about getting good articles created and added to my current blog i have in word press and circulate them to sites like stumble upon /Technorati etc

Please tell me i am on the right track lol

    Thanks again for your time

Technorati you just register your blog and a description of that. No need to do it every time you post an article that is what ping is for. Stumble Upon, you want to stumble the URL of the article every time you post one.

Yeah although be careful with Stumble - if you post articles that aren't very good quality, they can block your site so when you do have an article worth publishing, you won't be able to.

Oh and I've replied to the topic you created on BloggerToBlogger forums ;)

    Hi -

Good questions and answers. I agree that WordPress is all you need, but in scanning through the thread I thought of a reason why you might like to use a second "blog" to get your message out.

The concept would be to write a separate blog on a related subject, but on topics that aren't already in your existing blog. Then you can use a WordPress plugin to "scrape" the second blog into the first. This "scraping" is usually done illegally when you just grab someone else's copyrighted content, but in this case, you own both, and they compliment each other... so it makes sense.

EXAMPLE: I write a lot of WordPress articles for WebHelperMagazine.com - here. I also have a separate WordPress site where I market Blog Services at WebFadds.com. If you look there, you will see that WebFadds.com imports and delivers the WordPress category articles from WebHelperMagazine.com.

So, as a marketing technique, you could have a Blog with articles about eCommerce, and another about, say, social marketing, and import articles from one to the other.

    Best of success
    - Scott
