Very Strange

I don't know what is going on, but on every single site with adsense that I go to, I get exactly the same ad. It's a flash ad for hrblock.com. I first noticed this on my own sites, but now I see it everywhere. Is it some kind of spyware?
I tried clicking on it and it goes through googlesyndication, so I just don't get it. It shows up on every single site for me, but only on index page. Relevant or irrelevant to taxes

 

it's getting to be tax time, they're just doing a lot of promotion for themselves

 

OK, but it's strange because it should be targeted, right?
Even if not, for me, it is showing up on every SINGLE website - probably that has video, or image ads enabled. It is on this page as well: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/
How can they advertise on every single site with adsense? Crazy stuff

 

sounds like spyware.. but its hard to believe a reputable company like HR Block would resort to this kind of tactic

 

I was recently contacted by Google to part of their "brand advertising" program, so it's not impossible.

believe me when i say that i was just about to create a similar thread. These ads are everywhere. Even on my arcade site.....yeah you know those teens gotta do their taxes.

 

I don't think it has anything to do with this. These ads appear on all of my sites, related on not related, and I did not join any "brand advertising" program. They got some special deal with google we did not even know it existed.
One thing though, they could have at least done better targeting, because I am not in the US and ads are appearing everywhere even for me.
