Ok well today I received an infraction for a 'duplicate thread'. The strange thing is that ...
    1) it wasn't even my thread
    2) I only made 1 post in 1 (someone else's ) thread - if there was a duplicate thread I didn't even know about it, much less post in it (why would I ?).
    3) there was no moderator's name attached to this infraction
    4) the link to the 'bad' thread leads to nothing

Here is a copy/paste of the email ...

    Dear Just A Wag,

I took a look at the source code for these websites and I am pretty sure they are custom coded.
I've worked with most of the commerce scripts and cms scripts out there, and I don't recognize the code at all - they don't look like they are adaptations of the same script either.

Not much help, but at least you know ;)

    All the best,

As you can see I was simply trying to help someone who requested help.
Now I see you say that 99% of infractions are deserved, but seriously I think this one falls into the 1% category as I just can't imagine how I could possibly be guilty given that it wasn't my thread anyway.

So ... is there an appeal process - how do I do that ? I know a single infraction in my whole time here at dp is probably not that serious, but it's the principal that bothers me 'cos I actually do try to follow the rules. I suspect there is some technical issue here or some such - something triggered this but I don't know what.

    Any help ? Cheers

Sorry for the error. The infraction belonged to the post above yours.
