I've been having this problem a couple of weeks now and I've really exhausted all solutions.

I run a vbulletin forums and it loads perfectly fast in networks outside my home. But 90% of the time, when I'm at home, the site loads like 10 times slower. The browser just hangs at 'waiting for abc.com...' for a few minutes and sometimes doesn't even load. It is so bad that I cannot manage my site from home.

ALL other websites load perfectly normal from home. My server only has this one site.

    What i've tried:

    - disable antivirus
    - remove router and connect direct to cable modem.
    - check with server-side if there are any firewalls blocking my IP
    - use different browsers, IE & FF
    - check with network providers if there are any DNS problems
    - REINSTALL windows

NOTHING seems to help. Is there something else I can do? The only thing I figure left that I havn't done is to replace my cable modem. However since all other sites load fast and normal from home, i figure that it is quite unlikely a modem fault right? What do you think?

Wld really appreciate experts' help! Tks.

Are there any other sites on the same server you can test? It sounds like there may be a bottleneck specifically between your network, and the network your server is on. I've personally seen this happen a few times. The only solution unless you can get your ISP and your host to investigate and correct the problem is to get a new ISP or get a new host.

I would do some traceroutes from your network, and from other networks, and see if you can find where the bottleneck happens.
