I have a website which was deployed some 10-12 months back. I get around 90-100 visitors each day. However, the number of clicks are too less. What would be reasonable number of clicks per 100 visitors ? What else info you need ? Actually what is important in earning money adsense ? I need few basic tips. 60% of traffic comes through search engines.
If you receive around 100 unique visitors, you may get only 1-2 clicks on an average. In order to earn money through AdSense, you need a lot of targeted traffic. As you are already receiving some amount of organic traffic, I would suggest you to do a lot of SEO and also increase fresh and unique content on your website. This way, you will receive more traffic and in turn, more clicks.
To increse the CTR here are some tips 1. make baground colour of adsense same as baground of page 2 . Use the Blue colour for the link in the advertisement 3 . checkout adsense heatmap and arrange ads accordingly also post your site in the review section, i am sure that you will get some valueable suggestions from fellow DPers.
depending on the niche, 90-100 visitors will hardly give you any clicks. for some niche, it can be .5% CTR and for content based site with good ad placement, you can expect only a few clicks. focus on increasing your traffic as to earn form adsense, you need boat load of traffic
@web_hunk: I am just curious if i am going in the right direction or not. I am ready to work hard on it and add content to the website. But I need assurance if going the right way or not. I mean, if a normal user gets plenty clicks (like somebody told me 10-15 for 100 visits, which I also argued with him) so i was bit worried. @mullseo: thanks for the tips. @sultanofseo: Yeah, it hardly gives me any click. I am just worried if I am moving in wrong direction. If its normal then I have no issues. I can wait on adding more content and focus on increasing traffic.
You are going in the right direction. You just need to increase the amount of traffic and then experiment with ad placement to maximize clicks.
If 60% of the traffic is from search engine, your CTR shall be around 1~3%, mean (2~4 clicks per 100 UV). However, if your content, design, ads placement all is doing good, your CTR can achieve 6%. To make more money, try to get more traffic from SE, the conversion rate / click rate is higher since they are targeted
I would like to say if you want to earn big in AdSense, you might do SEO for your own site or drive traffic from PPC. I know some gurus do well via keep a balance between PPC and AdSense and earn big. Have a nice day,
Get backlinks from High PR sites and bookmark all your articles to drive traffic. Doing a little bit of SEO will do. But more posts = more money.
