Very low CTR : what's wrong ?

Hello,

despite the fact my site has 350 visitors/day, the CTR is always in the 0,35% range. What's wrong ? I use a "skycrapper" banner on the right side of the pages. What can i do to improve CTR ? I know i should reach 1% or even 2%, so how can i do to that ?

Move your ad to the left side. Whats your site look like?

 

There are two mentors I have used for optimizing AdSense pages... George Katsoudas (or something like that) from Greece, and Jon Leger, I think his blog has some entries on it... I know he had a free/cheap ebook on it.

Without looking at the site, I'd say the problem is poor ad placement OR poorly targeted traffic.

 

It all depends on your traffic and ad placement. How many daily uniques? Do you receive a lot of daily pageviews? Maybe you should learn how to supplement adsense with more ads so that you can earn more money.

Put the ads just above "Pourquoi le Journal d'un terrien ?", you will see the difference.
Using FF, I can't see the ads on the right side, this could be an explanation.

What do you think your visitors are on your site for? I have long been a believer that to get a good CTR and to thus make some good $$s with Adsense your users have to have commercial intent because browsers are not clickers.

I can't understand your site so I can't really comment on the purpose of a visit to it.

 

Depends from where they come too. The ads should be relevant and Geo Targeted. Also it should be placed properly so that it is viewed in the first fold of the website itself.
