This is my first post on dp forum so 'hello' to everyone Here is my problem - for last couple of days CPM on my web site has decreased by half - it's round $2 now (used to be $4.5-$5). Havn't changed anything on my web site. Is anybody else experiencing the same? cheers pete
Mine has been slightly up the past few days. However my CPM does fluctuates alot between a range but the average is pretty consistent. Could be temporary... Give a few more days to see what happens.
Increase your CTR. CPM is really depend on CTR, the higher the CTR, the higher your CPM BTW, I'm not sure whether google allow you to mention your CPM.
I've actually noticed a ~40% drop in "page impressions" reported in Google Adsense's control panel, and therefore an increased CTR and CPM. The $$$ is the same, and my sites are performing just like always(I have seperate webstats that prove no drop-off like this). I think Google changed something... -- Derek
About the same here. At this time Google is shopping and implementing new features and programs every day and perhaps neglecting adsense (publishers) a bit. But at the end it will turn out good as usual.
my theory is they changed the way the impressions are counted. the same ad units and ad links are counted as fewer impressions, hence the CPM and CTR are both up and earnings are unchanged.
CPM will change as adwords advertisors change their campaigns. More advertisors usually means the cost-per-click is bid up, and you get better CPM(more $$$ per click, same CTR, is more CPM; basic math). Consequently, if an advertisor leaves Adwords, or simply runs out of money/lowers their budget, etc., the CPC bid goes down, and therefore Adsense EPC(and therefore CPM) goes down. Oh, and back in February or so, it looks like Google started to take a larger %-- all the people I talked to with Adsense on their sites experienced a pretty significant EPC drop-- and it's been down ever since... -- Derek
Just a friendly reminder that cpm and ctr are still considered "confidential" under the Google Adsense TOS.
Yes, the CPM and CTR numbers are confidential(don't post these). Discussion of CPM and CTR is abstract and not even Google-specific, and hence is not covered under the Google Adsense TOS as I read it. -- Derek
Strange things are happening with adsense lately. One thing is sure, there are too many threads on this and other forums on similar topics for everything to be "normal".
My CPM has actually been up the last few days. But mine varies wildy, one day could be 10x the previous day.
My cpm has also dropped a lot recently, with my impressions up slightly and my ctr also up. One instance, my credit card site has dropped from an average of $1.45 per click to now 35 cents per click, and most of my others sites earn from 3 cents to 8 per click.
My CPM is flat. I saw I had a lot of clicks on tuesday, but fewer clicks for any of the previous days so tuesday is a new record.
