Good morning everyone, i've got a very annoying problem within my running Adwords campaign. Basically my clicks and impressions are very irregular. One day i have got 85 clicks, and the other day i have 4. The next day i've got 51 clicks, the day after that i have 1 click. One day the CTR is high, the next day it is very low. A graph displaying the amount of clicks (blue) and impressions (orange): I have no idea what is causing this problem, a little help would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance!
Normal a graph like this shows increase in visitors on weekdays as people are more active on internet on weekdays and on weekends the graph goes down. Is that the case with you? You can check and confirm back to receive more beneficial result to you.
No, unfortunately that's not the case.. For example- sunday 24 march i have 51 clicks sunday 31 march i have 1 click. Friday 15 march i have 27 clicks, friday 22 march i have 54 clicks. Saturday 23 march i have 16 clicks, saturday 30 march i have 51 clicks.. you get the point. Also the clicks aren't in sync with the impressions. For example, 1 April i have 40 clicks and 21501 impressions and 25 march i had 85 clicks and 2127 impressions...
Hello Adwords321, Have you called google staff with the details.. this is something only they can track and put a stop to it... how ever I am a very detail person and it you don't mind I will ask a few questions that may give you some ideas... 1. Look at the IP of the clickers to see if they are the same or different. 2. If different, some one could be using a proxy. 3. Are they filling out the form? or just on and off.. not staying on the site. 4. Do they come in a very short time... like 2-3 pm or is it equal all day. 5. Have as much detail as you can for google staff when you talk to them. 6. Did you look at clicks you are being charged for.. normally google will not charge you for any IP hitting more than once in 24 hours.. but of course if its proxy they won't know. 7. IN any case I am sure they will not make you pay for all those clicks once they investigate. 8. Are you getting the clicks from search or the content network. Please answer these questions and I may be able to help more... also if you can id where they are coming from like a certain country.. I can send you a little script that via the htaccess file will forward those suckers to a triple X site.. or even forward them to a loop that will lock up their server... but contact google staff right away and see what they can do... and let us know how you make out.
1. Unfortunately i don't have Google Analytics for this specific account. 2. - 3. Unfortunately i don't have Google Analytics for this specific account. 4. The visitors also come unequal. For example 25 march 2013 i had 85 visitors- about 85% of those visitors visited the site between 6 and 8 pm. 30 march 2013 i had 51 visitors. 35 of those 51 came between 9 and 11 pm. This is also pretty much the case with all other days; at a certain time there are many visitors, the clicks are not shared equal over day. If i look at all the clicks per hour of day from the past month they are pretty equally shared tough.. (shared equal over day- an increase in visitors during lunchtime and after dinnertime) 5. I contacted the Google staff before, and theyre only saying they cannot influence the way people click on my advertisements. When i say that 85 clicks one day and 1 click the next day is too much of a difference to be a coincidence, they say the same. I talked to them for about 25 minutes long and they basically said nothing.. only bullshit stories to keep me on the phone. 6. Unfortunately i don't know that either. 7. - 8. I don't use the content network for this campaign, they are all from the search network. We'll have to do with this limited info.. (i am running the campaign for a certain company, i am not running their website whatsoever, only this campaign) If you have any more questions you need answered in order to help me just ask them. Thanks for wanting to help me out with this!
1. Unfortunately i don't have Google Analytics for this specific account. You are doing a dis-service to the site owners by not having a GA account on every site you manage.. It is imperative that the GA site be directly connected to the adwords account other wise you miss out on valuable information that is crucial to the most efficient running of the adwords. 5. I contacted the Google staff before, and theyre only saying they cannot influence I am surprised that Google would not offer more help.. Log the click fraud daily and sent them a report of just how bad it is.. Nxt set up a script to track the IP of the clickers and send a complaint to thier host and get them banned.. if they are using proxy may be harder... Also if you can determine what Ip they use you can forward them to a lock up site that will ruin their bandwidth.. by making them download a 100 megabyte file each time they visit you. No value to ban thier IP since they have already clicked on your ad at this point. do you have access to the server to put my "kick the butt of adwords fake clickers" script... or will they place the script for you... its definitely for the benefit of the owner as it is costing a hell of a lot of money via fake clicks.
